GUN SMITH CATS

ちょっと前、ふらりと寄ったコンビニでなんとなく目に付いた月刊アフタヌーンを手に取りましたところ、

「あ、GUN SMITH CATSが。ラリーだ」

なぜ？目の錯覚？と思ったのもつかの間、GUN SMITH CATS BURSTの名で復活し、そろそろ単行本が出るらしいことが判明。まじで？買おう。

その場で立ち読んでみたところ、昔とぜんぜん変わらないマニアックなことがたくさん描いてありました。GUN SMITH CATSとは、何年か前、月刊アフタヌーンで連載されていた園田健一氏著のガン＆カーアクションマンガのことです。内容はとりあえずマニアックで、この人はガンと車が大好きなんだろうなぁということがとてもよくわかるものでありながら、スピード感のあるリアルな展開で進む、ストーリーの安っぽくないハリウッド映画（？）のようなマンガです。とてもおもしろいです。ガンも車も特別好きではないという人でも楽しめるんではないでしょうか。実力は大して強くもないのに麻雀マンガを知ったかで読むときのような自己満足感が得られるでしょう。ほめてるつもりです。

GUN SMITH CATSにはまってたのはどれくらい前のことかよく覚えていませんが、当時ラジオドラマとかビデオアニメとかがあったらしいくらいの人気マンガです。ラジオは聞いたことがないですが、マンガは何度も読み返しました。個人的に好きなのは5巻かな。マスタングとACコブラとダッヂバイパーのレースは忘れられません。また読み返したいなぁ、時間ないけど。表紙は6巻が好き。なので、下に。
